Playoff Update: One

Ok, so my original prediction of the participants Western Finals was not correct, but I'm excited non the less. The Thunder will be against the Warriors for Round 3 of the playoffs. Seriously though, who can't wait to see Curry against Durant? Westbrook against Green? I am! Props to the Thunder for beating the Spurs, it was an intense game. About half an hour ago, the Heat advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals by beating the Raptors. The Heat will be up against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Must be awkward for Lebron James, as the Heat is his ex team...😂 I'll update you guys soon!

Playoff Predictions

There are many theories surrounding who will face off in the NBA Finals this year. I for one, think it's going to be the Golden State Warriors against the Cleveland Cavaliers again. While I'm not fond of the Cavs, I must give them credit. They're doing quite well this playoff season, and have already secured a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals, where they presumably will face the Oklahoma City Thunder (at least I think so.) I think the Western Conference Finals will be the Warriors against the San Antonio Spurs. These are all just my thoughts, but we will soon see if I was correct.

HE'S THE MVP!!!!!!

GUESS WHO'S THE MVP? STEPH CURRY!!! Steph Curry was announced to be the MVP for this season, for the second year in a row! He also made NBA history yet again, by being the only person to unanimously win MVP! This means everyone voted for him to be MVP! And can we talk about Curry's comeback? After being on the bench because of his injury, Curry scored 40 points last game, 17 of them in overtime alone. He was seen pounding his chest and yelling "I'm back!" You certainly are, Steph. We won this game, and we need to win one more and we advance to the Western Conference Finals.

WE WONNNNN!!!!

GUESS WHO"S GOING TO ROUND 2 OF THE PLAYOFFS? THE WARRIORS ARE!! I know this is late, but we previously beat the Houston Rockets in Round 1. Due to the Clipper's losses, we are now against the Portland Trailblazers for Round 2. I feel bad for the Clippers, as they had two of their best players out on injuries (Blake Griffin and Chris Paul.) But we (the Warriors) had a game yesterday, and we dominated. With the final score of 118-106, we beat the Trailblazers with Curry sitting on the sidelines. He's still out on his injury I talked (more like had a meltdown) about in my last blog. He says that he "feels good about game 3" but "injury is still painful" (Source ESPN.) Last night, Draymond Green also scored a triple double. That's about it for yesterday's game, and I will blog about the one that we have tomorrow too. Until then, bye!

EMERGENCY BLOG: CURRY IS INJURED AGAIN

OK EVERYONE DON'T PANIC BUT CURRY IS INJURED AGAIN! In a game against the Houston Rockets (currently going on) he fell and sprained his knee. He will not be returning to finish the game and this is his second injury of the playoff season. This was his first game after he hurt his ankle a few games ago. This is not a good sign for our star player. The score is currently 97-76 (this is not the final score) with the fourth quarter just beginning. We have a good chance of winning this game. I hope they win this game and the next, so they can all rest and get themselves ready for Round 2 of the playoffs. And all my prayers go to Curry in hopes he heals and does not get injured again during this playoff season. I think I'm speaking for all Warriors fans when I say if he gets injured again, we may not see the finals. I'll probably blog after our next game, which is Wednesday, so see you guys then.

The Playoffs: Warriors Style

PLAYOFF SEASON HAS BEGUN! Now being a Warriors fan, my prime focus is on the Warriors, so most of my blogs will be bias toward them. So far, we've played two playoff games against the Houston Rockets. The first game, the Warriors emerged victorious, with a final score of 104-78. During this first quarter, Curry and Patrick Beverley had a small fight, with both players getting very defensive. A double technical was called as neither player backed down. Also in the first quarter, Curry hurt his ankle, and had to sit out for the rest of the game.
With game one in the bag, the Warriors moved on to game two, where they had to face the Rockets again but this time without Curry. They had done this previously and won, but there was still pressure as it is playoff season and there is no room for error. Well, we walked away with another win, with the final score being 115-106. Klay Thompson made up for Curry's absence by scoring a total of 34 points. Our next playoff game is tomorrow, where Curry is still unsure if he will play because of his ankle. "Based on how I feel right now, I probably couldn't play." Curry says (source, ESPN.) But even if Curry doesn't play, we now know thanks to the outcome of game two, we will (most likely) still win.

Kobe's Last Game

(Again I know this is late, please forgive me.) Now I may not be a die hard Lakers fan like some of my friends, but I do want to acknowledge something. On April 13 (the day the Warriors made history might I add) Kobe Bryant played his final game at home (the Staples Center), against the Utah Jazz. Now I'm going to be completely honest, I was not expecting them to win this game, as the rest of their season wasn't very promising. But to my surprise, the Lakers emerged victorious, with a final score of 101-96. Kobe himself scored 60 of those points, which is a lot for one player. I myself did not watch the full game (I only caught parts of it as I was watching the Warriors game) but from what I saw, they gave Kobe the ball 90% of the time, which made me laugh. By the end of the night you could tell he was exhausted. But, even as a Warriors fan, I must pay my respects to Kobe. Farewell black mamba, you had a great run.

WE DID IT GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I must apologize in advance for this post being late.) AHHHHH I CAN LITERALLY NOT EXPRESS MY EXCITEMENT! On April 13, the Golden State Warriors made NBA history by achieving a total of 73 wins and 9 losses in their 2015-16 season. They have now broken the previous record of 72 wins and 10 losses, which was set by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls. May I mention that at the time this record was set, Michael Jordan was on the Bulls. WE BROKE A RECORD SET BY MICHAEL JORDAN!! (Again, I apologize if I yell in this post a lot. I'm just really passionate about the Warriors.) Not many teams can say that they have broken a record set by an absolute legend.

And I will now recap the historic game. The Warriors played the Memphis Grizzlies at home (the Oracle Arena) and the crowd was packed full of Warriors fans. In fact, as I watched the game, I didn't notice a single Grizzly fan in the audience. The Warriors began the game with a decent lead, the sore being 37-23. By the end of the second quarter, the score had climbed to 60-50, with the Warriors staying in the lead. The odds were looking good for the Warriors, with a score of 92-81 closing out the third quarter. In the final quarter, the pressure was on to make history, and it all payed off in the end as we closed the game off with 125-104, making it our final win of the regular season. I've never been prouder of my babies then on that night.

Today, the Warriors face off against the Houston Rockets at 7:30 at home (which gives them a better chance of winning.) And I would like to announce that PLAYOFF SEASON HAS BEGUN!!!

Warriors VS 76ers

Today the Warriors were against the Philidelphia 76ers. No offense to any 76ers fans, but at the moment the 76ers are the worst team in the league. That would mean that of we lost, it would have been a huge embarrassment. So you can imagine my surprise when I get the notification from the Warriors app alerting me that the first quarter has ended and the score was 31-32 with Warriors leading. The score worried me greatly, but I was eased when I learned that we ended the second quarter with a 16 point lead (71-55.) By the end of the third quarter the score was 96-79 and we were still leading. The final score was 117-105, with the Warriors emerging victorious.
The Warriors have now improved to 66-7, and are 7 wins away from breaking the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls record (for most wins in a season). And I have to hand it to the 76ers, the game was closer than I thought it would be!

Side Note: My birthday was fun, and I'm sorry I didn't blog! I was busy with all the festivities. Also, Happy Easter to everyone!
Until next time, bye!
